Bruker Avance 400 MHz in Bucharest

The National Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Laboratory was founded by Spectroteam for Romania Foundation, Bruker Biospin, Institute of Organic Chemistry, and Oltchim. In this context it was installed in Bucharest a Bruker Avance DRX 400 NMR spectrometer. This instrument belongs to the latest generation of NMR spectrometers, and presently it is the most powerful and modern NMR spectrometer for liquids in the region (Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey, Albania). Between 1998 - 2000, the 4 founding institutions subsidized the free access with samples belonging to Romanian researchers from universities and other non-profit institutes. Since the year 2000 Bruker started to sale shares to the NMR spectrometer. Presently the spectrometer is co-owned by Bruker Biospin, Spectroteam for Romania Foundation, Departments of Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry belonging to the "Politehnica" University Bucharest, and Department of Organic Chemistry belonging to the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca. In the current phase of the project, the free access to the spectrometer is granted to the founding and co-owning institutions and groups. Any Romanian institution (either public or private) may purchase shares to the spectrometer and join the co-owning consortium that will be formed by the end of the purchasing phase.
