Although independent as Project, The National Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Laboratory is also part of the much wider Programme entitled The Agro-Food and Pharmaceutical Analytical Center. Thus, some extensions to the existing instrumentation are targeted, so that the NMR Laboratory could become the unique Analytical Laboratory able to address some very specific quality controls and authentication issues in this field in Romania and neighbor countries.

The National Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Laboratory is the most important ongoing project of the Spectroteam for Romania Foundation. The Project was initiated in December 1996 and it had the official opening in October 1998. Presently this laboratory is hosting the most modern and powerful NMR instrument in the region (Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey, Albania). The NMR Laboratory is co-founded by Spectroteam for Romania, Bruker, the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Romanian Academy, and Oltchim.
