Presently the laboratory is under development and, during this phase, the main field of analysis is the pharmaceutical one. Due to this fact, the laboratory is hosted in the modern pharmaceutical production site belonging to the Arena Group. In this site there is previous expertise in the analytical field, there are additional analytical equipment, qualified operators and enough room for developing the educational and research projects. Meanwhile, we are preparing the second stage of the Project by developing the agro-food analytical techniques. With the intensive support of our friends and sponsors we hope to reach the second stage in the shortest possible time.
Fig. 5. The Fiber Optic Probe as an extension to the Vector 33 Spectrometer. This sampling accessory allows a wide range of liquids, solids and powders, thus being ideal for quality controls in agro-food and pharmaceutical applications. The instrumentation in the Optical Spectroscopy Laboratory is of latest technology and they are equipped with a wide range of accessories and extension modules that make them extremely useful not only to quality controls but also to advanced research and education.
