The Optical Spectroscopy Laboratory.

The Optical Spectroscopy Laboratory is a project developed by Spectroteam for Romania foundation in collaboration with the Arean Group Bucharest. In lines with Spectroteam's general principles, this Project aims to develop an important education and research charitable component. In addition to this main objective, the Optical Spectroscopy Laboratory should become self-sustainable so that it would be able to both survive without external support and to subvention as many as possible education and research projects.

The Optical Spectroscopy Laboratory aims to become the core of a modern center for quality control in emerging fields in Romania like agro-food and pharmaceuticals. The Optical Spectroscopy Laboratory Project is part of the much wider Programme entitled The Analytical Center for Emerging Fields (Agro-Food and Pharmaceuticals).

Presently the laboratory is under development and, during this phase, the main field of analysis is the pharmaceutical one. Due to this fact, the laboratory is hosted in the modern pharmaceutical production site belonging to the Arena Group. In this site there is previous expertise in the analytical field, there are additional analytical equipment, qualified operators and enough room for developing the educational and research projects. Meanwhile, we are preparing the second stage of the Project by developing the agro-food analytical techniques. With the intensive support of our friends and sponsors we hope to reach the second stage in the shortest possible time.

This sampling accessory allows a wide range of liquids, solids and powders, thus being ideal for quality controls in agro-food and pharmaceutical applications. The instrumentation in the Optical Spectroscopy Laboratory is of latest technology and they are equipped with a wide range of accessories and extension modules that make them extremely useful not only to quality controls but also to advanced research and education.
